Welcome to Lent term 2.
We hope you had a wonderful half term with your families and you are ready for lots more fun and learning!
This half term we will be focussing on different types of transport and road safety.
In English, we are reading – The Train Ride, Mr Gumpy’s Motor Car, The Naughty Bus and Oi! Get off our Train. We will carry out lots of exciting writing tasks linked to these books. We will focus on writing a sentence with a capital letter, finger spaces and full stop.
In Topic we will explore different types of transport and look at vehicles in the past and present. We will also learn about road safety.
In RE we are learning to explore what a ‘Gathering’ is and what makes them special. We are also learning to recognise growth in nature and discover the ways in which things grow.
In Maths we will be ordering numbers, comparing numbers and beginning to explore the composition of 10. We will explore the composition of odd and even numbers and begin to link even numbers to doubles.
In Phonics the children will be continuing with RWI and will be learning new sounds and words in their new groups. We are so proud of their progress this far and thank you for your support at home.
We look forward to another fun half term in Reception.
